Born and raised in Luzerne County, Mike Cabell is honored to represent his hometown community and fight for the residents of the 117th Legislative District. As a newly elected State Representative from Luzerne County, Mike is excited to bring his entrepreneurial skills, passion for service, and dedication to helping others.

Growing up while working on his grandparent’s farm in Drums, Mike learned from a young age the value of hard work, agriculture, and the desire to help those who genuinely strive to make their community better. A graduate of Bishop Hafey High School, Mike’s roots in family and helping others were instilled right from the beginning. He would eventually attend St. Joeseph’s University, where he studied Political Science.

Driven by a passion for helping his community, Mike returned home after college and got his political start early at age 22, joining the Luzerne County Young Republicans to support local candidates in the community. Following the Kids for Cash scandal and the passage of the Home Rule Charter in Luzerne County, Mike decided to run for Luzerne County Council. Despite being a vocal opponent of the charter, Mike sought to bring commonsense solutions to the new form of government and to help turn the page on a dark era in Luzerne County politics. While his campaign was unsuccessful, Mike feels like he won by meeting the love of his life, Chelsea, along the campaign trail, which he would eventually marry.

Mike would go on to become an accomplished entrepreneur with a successful track record in the healthcare industry, founding a behavioral healthcare company in 2015 and managing its day-to-day operations. Working with clients in the healthcare field, Mike truly gained an appreciation for helping others, driving him to grow and expand the company to continue to assist those in need. He eventually sold the company in 2021, but his passion for helping others and building great teams has made him an invaluable asset in the industry. Mike continues to invest in the behavioral healthcare industry and is dedicated to continuing to help improve the lives of those in his community.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mike is most proud to be a devoted husband to his wife, Chelsea, and father of two young boys: Julian, 11, and Theo, 4. Known as “Coach Mike” on the weekends, Mike volunteers for all his children’s sports teams and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Mike currently lives in Drums with his wife and children.
